RIGHTEOUS LIVING

Why Was Cain in the Wrong: The Other Perspective
When thinking of the story of Cain and Abel, many people always point out the murder of …
Abel and never look at it from another point of view. Both Cain and Abel brought their offerings to God, but God respected and accepted Abel and his offering. Why so?
To quote from the Scriptures Genesis 4:6-7,
6 So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is [d]for you, but you should rule over it.”
Abel's offering was accepted because Abel gave his offering with a restful heart, with a heart full of joy and gratitude. He recognized that God was the one who blessed his work. He knew that nothing of what he offered would have been enough to repay God for His blessings and what He did for him.
Abel was not prideful. He humbled himself before God and gave Him the respect and honor He deserves. Cain was eventually jealous of his brother and murdered him thinking that nobody would ever know that he killed his brother but God knew. Despite being cursed and punished for his sin, Cain did not feel sorry for what he did to his own brother. We should not be like Cain, prideful of our every little accomplishment, forgetting that God is the One who helps us become what we are and have what we have.
To live righteously, we should always be thankful and grateful to God for everything He has done for us, big or small. We should give Him the respect, honor, and praise He deserves because without Him, we are nothing and can’t do anything.
There is nothing that we can do to repay God for everything He has done for us. We just have to recognize that His hands were and are still at work in our lives, and He deserves all the glory, honor and praise.
May God bless you and see you next time.
FAITHFULNESS

Why You Should Choose to Be Faithful to God
The world is filled with various paths. Everyday, we face many decisions to make and…
It’s difficult to know which path to embark on, especially for us young people. Several influences push us to choose certain paths over others. Influences from our peers, from society, and from our lives seek to guide us in a direction to lean on. Moreover, the main influence, our desires, tends to direct us on the path with the most pleasure and freedom. With that in mind, why would you and I choose a path paved by God? Why should you and I have faith and be faithful to God?
From an earthly perspective, the decision of choosing God over everything is not a satisfying one. You choose to leave all the pleasures and worldly experiences behind and solely practice what God says and wants. However, in the long run, the forever run, it’s the best decision each one of us should make.
All paths besides the godly one have numerous promises. Those promises are truly tempting and that’s why many choose them. They promise subjects that our bodies desire. Moreover, they seem to be the most satisfying ones. Nonetheless, when we look at those who got the pinnacle of all of them combined, these promises do not deliver what most expect. In the end, many find those promises to be deceitful and they become disappointed. Furthermore, they remember that their present lives will determine their future eternal lives; hence making these promises even more dismaying. The only path that guarantees fulfillment in our present lives and our lives after death is to choose to have faith and be faithful to God.
One might say, “I have heard that countless times,” and be bored out of the suggestion of choosing God. One might not see the rich goodness that comes with this choice. So, let’s address the reasons why you and I should make this decision.
Firstly, one has to receive the gracious gift of salvation, by faith through grace, and have Jesus as their Lord and Savior. By doing so, you are saved, forgiven from all your sins, and become a child of God. When this step has been made, you can now have full access to God. You can now have the possibility to have faith and be faithful to God.
Naturally, the path of faith and faithfulness to God is a challenging one. This choice is, literally, a devotion to the perfect Being who created all things that exist. We are imperfect creatures. With our own efforts and might, it’d be impossible to be and remain faithful to God. Yes, when we become Christians we are new creatures and we are different from our past selves, but we still live in this world and still have those earthly desires. This factor complicates our decision to be faithful to God.
Thankfully, we will not have to rely on ourselves. As children of God, we have the best foundation to rely on and the foundation is our God. To be faithful to God and have faith in Him, we have to trust Him and His very own faithfulness. God is consistently faithful to us, He guides us, and He loves us. With this truth, we can be assured that in being faithful to Him, we let ourselves in His hands. We believe that He knows us and our lives. In return for His faithfulness and love, we are called to demonstrate our own faithfulness and faith in Him through our actions and decisions. The actions and decisions we are to take are those that honor and glorify Him and also make good use of all He has given to us
To reach this point, we are called to have God as our top priority. Our lives should revolve around the guidance of His Word. It won’t come without benefits. As 2 Timothy 2:11-13 rightfully states, “This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. (NKJV)” When we make that decision of being faithful to Him, He will also be faithful to us. And when God is faithful to you, you are sure that whatever may come, you will be okay.
Furthermore, by being faithful we become an example to everyone. We become an influence for good while we are in the world. We won’t have the worldly things that many desire, but we will have what most yearn for—a life filled with the presence of God. Our faith and faithfulness to God will be a demonstration to others that there is a better path and there is hope.
LOVE

Embracing God’s Transfor-mative Love: A Journey of Grace and Compassion.
Today, we embark on a beautiful journey exploring the profound topic of…
love. Love lies at the core of Christianity, for God Himself is love (1 John 4:8). It is a force that can transform lives, heal wounds, and bring hope. Let us dive into the depth and beauty of this divine love that calls us to a life of compassion and grace.
When we think of love, our minds often gravitate toward romance, affection for family, friends, etc. However, God's love transcends all human understanding and encompasses every aspect of our existence. His love is unconditional, sacrificial, and enduring. As Romans 5:8 reminds us, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." This profound act of love on the cross reveals the extent of God's desire for a relationship with us.
As recipients of God's love, we are called to love one another as He loves us. In John 13:34, Jesus commands His disciples, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." This agape love goes beyond feelings or emotions; it is a deliberate choice to show kindness, forgiveness, and empathy to those around us, even to those who may seem unlovable.
Love not only transforms our relationships with others but also our relationships with ourselves. It invites us to embrace our God-given worth and identity as beloved children of the Most High. In 1 John 3:1, we read, "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" Understanding and accepting God's love enables us to love and care for ourselves in a healthy and balanced way.
In a broken world where hatred and division abound, love becomes a powerful instrument of reconciliation, healing, and unity. As followers of Christ, we are called to be agents of love, extending grace and compassion to all. Galatians 5:14 teaches us, "For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Our love should transcend boundaries, reaching out to the marginalized, the oppressed, and the hurting.
In conclusion, love is the essence of our faith and the driving force behind our actions. It is through God's transformative love that we experience true freedom, joy, and peace. As we embark on this blog journey together, let us grow in our understanding and practice of love, seeking to reflect the heart of our loving Creator in all that we do. May our lives radiate the love of Christ, drawing others into the embrace of His unending grace.
PEACE
by Kathleen N.K
Can a person live a peaceful life and still not know the peace of God?
The answer or a possible state-ment that might be made in reply to this very question is a bit…
difficult. Human nature is inherently dissatisfied, as we reside in a world surrounded by sin.
The ramifications of sin and transgressions are significant and can result in an insurmountable debt that can never be fully resolved, even over an infinite timeline.
As a result, individuals frequently seek to modify their environments and circumstances in an attempt to find fulfillment and respite. This may include taking vacations or engaging in leisure activities to rejuvenate themselves and improve their financial situation.
However, genuine peace that brings peace of mind is required, and it is outwardly displayed when it fills our hearts. The Peace that one Man called Jesus can give as He said to the apostles: I leave you My peace
It is evident that without Jesus, there can be no peace at all.
This peace is not merely a sentiment or an emotion but is a state of mind and heart that is rooted in God's love for us. The apostle Paul also speaks about the peace of God in his letter to the Philippians, saying, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV). This passage reminds us that when we turn to God in prayer and bring our concerns and worries to Him, He offers us his peace that surpasses all understanding. This peace is a gift from God that we can experience regardless of our circumstances.
In summary, while a person may experience a form of peace in their life without knowing the peace of God, they may still feel a sense of emptiness or lack of purpose. The peace of God is a deeper and more profound peace that comes from a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ, and it is a peace that can transcend all circumstances.
